What I have been up to

Sorry it has been so long between posts! But I do have some finishes to share. The first is the Bent Creek Big Zipper series that I finished up this week. Sorry the picture is not to great. I am really leaning towards finishing this in some sort of quilted wall hanging.

I have also done some more beaded ornaments. They are small ornaments from JoAnns then beaded with size 10 beads. I plan on doing some more before Christmas.

I have also finished up a couple of stitched ornaments but since they are for our NANI exchange I think I will wait to show them after our Christmas party.
Yesterday I attended a wonderful needlework event hosted by The Sycamore Ridge EGA chapter. First thanks for hosting it was a wonderful event!!! I rode down with Lelia from Stitches of Life, we were joined by fellow NANI members Sue D. and Terry T. also Cici . The event was taught by Eileen Bennett it was The Legend of the Underground Quilts. A lovely project and so much history was shared. Not only did I come home with a lovely project but some readings as well.
When I got close to home I hit or he hit me a deer. Fortunately not so much damage to my little saturn vue but enough that it will probably be spending a few days in the shop in the near future. I told my husband and son (both avid hunters) that at least I got one this year (they havent:( ) but they said it doesn't count because it got away.
On a side note Congratulations to Trine University(Tri-State) my son is an alumni. They are off to the division 3 football playoffs after winning the conference and going undefeated. Yes my son did play for them and we are so happy for the boys and the coaches.
Well dinner (beef stew) is simmering, the boys are hunting so I am off to stitch on one of the Boston Terrier pieces. Boy are there a lot of colors!!
May you be blessed with stitches,
Karol

Great job, Karol! Your idea of finishing the BC piece in a quilted wall hanging should work very well.

So glad you weren't injured by the deer.

Great BC stitched piece! Should be a stunning wall hanging. Lovely ornaments as well : )

It was a nice workshop. I'm still waiting for CICI to post w/pictures. I have one itty bitty North Star block -- but did enjoy trying a size 24 needle (what a toothpick) and away knots (not my cup of tea).

Taking pictures this a.m. & hope to get an e-mail to you soon.

Oh, so sorry about the deer. It happened to us a few years back. They shoot out from nowhere.
