What I have been up to

Well, happy labor day weekend to all of my US blogging sisters!! We do not have to much planned for the last weekend of summer which is usually a good thing. On a side note my dh is a steelworker and he just walked in with the paper and an agreement has been made. That means NO STRIKE! yeah! The contract runs out Monday at 11:59 and their had been a vote to strike but an agreement was reached. That is a load off our minds. Back to the weekend I have some cleaning and cooking for our EGA meeting on Tuesday. I plan to do up my Lizzie Kate pillow also and will show a picture tomorrow. On the stitching front I have been working on my HAED design this week it is coming along really well.
Until next time;
May you be blessed with stitches,
Karol

Lizzie Kate Finish

I was able to get this done yesterday. This weekend I hope to get some fabric and make it into a flange pillow (my first attempt). I think it such a cute little saying and a good excuse to spend more time stitching instead of cleaning!:)! I hope all of you are well!
Until next time:

Big Zipper Update

The newest installment to my big zipper is finished. I have been thinking of how I would like to "finish" it when it is all completed. It is so large I was thinking of almost a quilted like wall hanging. Anyone else doing this? How are you finishing? Tomorrow I am taking out the Lizzie Kate and starting that. Of course the Bears will be on my tv. Love football!! We will probably be back and forth to the olympics also they sure have been wonderful to watch.
Until next time,

Just a quick note

Well we survived the puppy sitting and everyone is back home safe and sound. I did get some stitching done on my canvas piece not as much as I would have liked to but some. Moday I received my next installment for the big zipper project and have been stitching on that. Since this week in my rotation is for small items once the big zipper part is finished I am starting the Lizzie Kate "Housework never killed anyone". I think it will be a cute little piece for the house. Hope you all are finding time to stitch!Until next time:

Midwest Stash Sale

Well I think a good time was had by all at the Stash Reduction sale. Kuddos to Linda and her staff. Here are the things that jumped from other stitchers stash to mine. (sorry my photo skills are not the greatest)

Well dinner is in the crock pot; the grandpuppies are realitively calm so maybe I can get some stitching in. Hope you are all having a beautiful weekend.
May your day be blessed with stitches!!!

What was I thinking?????

Well, for the weekend not only do we have the one grandpuppy that lives here all the time we also have my dd and her boyfriends two puppies(grandpuppy two and three). What a sight when grandpuppy number one a full grown husky(who thinks he is the prince of grandma's castle) comes in to find that "his castle" has been invaded by his two cousins the boston terriers (one year old boy and five month old girl) needless to say I do not think he was to happy. Little Lucy decided it was pretty much bedtime and Rocky thought he would just attack his bigger cousin Bear! I hope I can get some stitching done this weekend! Fourtantly Bear loves to be outside from sun up to sun down and the weather looks like it will cooporate for that.
I do think I will take a reprive and head over to the House of Stitches in LaPorte and check out the 2nd annual Midwest Stash reduction sale (like I need to buy more stash) but it is for a good cause the American Heart Association. I will try to share some pictures tomorrow of what jumps into my car.
May your day be blessed with stitches!

Rotation Stitching

Well, I am back on my rotation stitching. Since the first of the year I have tried to do a rotation of one week on a project. Right now I have three main projects:
Lavender and Lace Angel
HAED QS wolf
Seasons canvas piece
I am going to do a fourth week of small things so that I can actually get some finishes in! Sometimes I put my rotation to the side if I want to finish a piece for guild or just want to have a finish. So far it is working pretty good.
On a side note how about our young athletes! Way to go! There is so much dedication on their parts. I just love amatuer and college kids that do there sports for the love of the games. Probably because of our experience with our DS playing division 3 football for 4 years after playing in high school and middle school. It will be kind of strange not seeing him going to center the ball this year but such memories and what friendships he made during the time. So to our US Olympiads and there families Thank You!

My First Post

This is my first post of hopefully many more. I have been reading other blogs for a long time and have decided to take the plunge. I am an avid stitcher for well over 20 years. I am a wife and mother to a ds and dd. The ds just graduated from college and is working and living at home and the dd lives on her own and is starting her last year of college. I am also the grandma to three puppies Bear (who lives at our house) and Rocky and Lucy. I am looking forward to getting to know other stitchers.
May your day be blessed with stitches,
Karol
