Coming out to Stitch

Ms. Kandi Rose is beginning to make herself quite at home. Here she is coming out of the bed that I got for her (yes she is going to be a spoiled cat):

She is pretty much over the hiding in fact she is becoming quite the lap cat. All weekend when I was sitting trying to stitch she was right with me. We did work out an arrangement that she is more next to me then right on my lap under my stitching frame. She still runs off a little bit but what a change in a week. She also has made herself at home in bed with us. I don't know if 4 am is the best time to need some petting though:)!
On the stitching front I have been working on my correspondence course:

Not much to look at yet. I hope to have all the borders done in the next few days and then start on the interior. Hope I can get it done by Mid March.
Well it looks like we may get hit with a major snow fall this week of course it is predicted to start the afternoon when we have our EGA meeting not so fun!!
Hope everyone has a great week!
Until next time
May you be blessed with stitches,
Karol

Some Stitching and a Gift

I hope all have a great weekend. Mine was filled with some stitching, errands, church, time with the DH and Kandi Rose. Kandi is really running around now. DH said she has been up in our bed when we have been sleeping and she is playing with the toys we got her. This evening she even jumped on the couch next to me a few times didn't stay long but progress. So each day is a new adventure with her.
On the stitching front I mentioned that I was doing an ANG Correspondence course. These are the colors that I have picked:

I now it is a bit of a departure from my pinks and greens but when I saw the course I just thought of an autumn garden.
This is the course:

I didn't take a picture this week. All I have done so far is work on the boarder which is sort of cream on cream hopefully next week.
I did work on our ongoing for our Chapter:

This is the Sue Reed Mystery Sampler offered at the ANG website from last year. I am all caught up with where we are!
The other day one I got home I had a package from my EGA Secret Stitching Partner:

This looks like fun!!! Oh I wish I could add some more time to the day or an extra day to the weekend.
Until next time
May you be blessed with stitches,
Karol

First Happy Dance!!!!!

Woo Hoo!!! First Happy Dance for 2011:

Christmas Mantel by Bent Creek. This was fun to stitch!! I started my Correspondence Course for ANG this evening not much to show hopefully Sunday.
On the Kandi Rose front she continues to be pretty shy. We let her out of the room we had her in because she was crying when I would leave. Of course she immediately went and hid. The DH and I looked for over an hour and couldn't find her after I went to bed that evening I spotted her coming out and going to eat. The last two evenings she has been coming out and running around a little bit while we watch TV but no cuddles. Hopefully soon. She is a sweety..
Until next time
May you be blessed with stitches,
Karol

A New Stitching Buddy!!

I have a new stitching buddy! Or I hope she becomes my stitching buddy. Right now she is just timid and shy and loves to hide. But when she does let me hold her she is a purrer and a kneader!!
Introducing Ms. Kandi Rose:

I adopted her yesterday from a rescue organization. Can you believe someone dumped her a dumpster last November. They estimate that she is 4 months old but she is pretty tiny. When I saw her name was Kandi with a K I said it was fate and I added the Rose. She is a ball of long orange fluff. Now if we can get her over being shy and trying to hide all the time.
On the stitching front I continue working on my Christmas Mantle:

I do belive that I will be doing the happy dance for the first time in 2011 sometime real soon!!!
Give those 4 legged babies an extra hug tonight for those that get thrown away I know I will be getting some cuddle time in with my new baby before bed.
Until next time
May you be blessed with stitches,
Karol

Stitching On

Well the first week of 2011 is behind us. Pretty uneventful in our home except this cold I have had all week. Yuck!! Finally feel like I am 100% after surgery and a darn cold shows up luckily it is not to bad just lingering....
I have been able to stitch though:

I have continued on with the Christmas Mantel I am enjoying it!
I hope you all are having a good week and that you have been able to spend some time with your needle.
Until next time
May you be blessed with stitches,
Karol

The End of the Holiday Season

It seems as the holiday season is over. I had a lovely afternoon today with some of my friends that I have made through my ega guild. We stitched, ate, laughed, ate, exchanged presents and ate some more. It was so much fun!! And I was certainly spoiled. I am a lucky person to have made such nice friends because of our common love of needlework. Thank you ladies!!
Our house is a wee bit quieter this evening our DD moved out earlier this week and the grandpuppies went to the new place today. I hope they all enjoy it and our adjusting nicely.
On the stitching front I have continued to work on my Christmas Mantel:

I really should be starting on a correspondence course for ANG but I just can't put this one down. It is a fun and cute stitch.
Well I hope that you all and a safe and blessed New Year and hope that 2011 is full of blessings for everyone.
Until next time
May you be blessed with stitches,
Karol
