Christmas Stitching

I hope everyone had a blessed Christmas!! I worked some more on my Christmas Mantel(sorry for the lousy picture I had a hard time getting it all in):


Our Christmas Eve was busy seeing extended family. But Christmas day was quiet and laid back just the DH, DS, DD, me and the grandpuppies. It was nice just to enjoy the day together and laugh about old times, and have a nice meal. No schedules no other demands. The DS liked the deer picture and was still contemplating where to hang it. He is home safe and sound to WV which is a blessing. The DD is busy getting ready to move into an apartment. Guess we will be empty nesters again :)! I hope everyone was able to enjoy their holiday as much as I did mine!

A Little Stitching a lot of Snowing

Well I was supposed to return to work last Monday but it was delayed a day because of a snow storm. A lot of snow and a lot of blowing and a big ole tree down in the back yard. And winter doesn't start for two more days.
So after working some home for a while and in the evenings after working I did get some stitching done.

I finished Copper by Needle Delights. What a fun little stitch:




I finished up this little ornament:


I made a trivet with locker hooking:



I started the Christmas Mantel by Bent Creek:


It was a busy week with work and trying to get ready for Christmas. I have been pretty tired when I laid my head down but I guess that is a blessing.

Stitching up a Winter Storm

Not sure what the weather is like where you are at but we are having a great big winter storm. Of course it happens when I have to return to work after 6 weeks. The commute in the morning will not be much fun if do able at all. On a happier note it was a wonderful week filled with stitching and fun.
Fist to show is the Deer picture all framed up:


Those ladies at House of Stitches do a wonderful job. Still have my fingers crossed that the DS will make it in for Christmas so I can see him open it.
On Tuesday night was our Christmas party for our guild. At this time our Secret Stitching Sisters are revealed. I had a wonderful one this year so many goodies and my Christmas present did not dispoint:

At our party we also do an ornament exchange. This is the one I put in:

On the stitching front I finished up the Stitching for Autism piece by Sue Reed. This is a wonderful project. It is filled with facts about Autism and stitches are releated to dealing with Autism:

What have you bee up to???

Well I have been pretty busy since the last time I posted. We where able to go to WV to visit with our DS over Thanksgiving. What a lovely state look forward to visiting again. Had a great time with the DS and the grandpuppy.
I have also been doing some stitching.
I finished up 8 Kissing Pillows for Soldiers:


I crocheted an afghan for my DD (the grandpuppies put a hole in the other one I stitched for her):


My ANG group is doing the Mystery Sampler by Sue Reed found on the ANG website. After our meeting Saturday I got caught up to where I should be with our class:



I then started another Sue Reed class. This was our October ANG meeting project:

It is her Stitching for Autism piece I am enjoying this piece also learning more about Autism. We hope to also do this with my EGA group next year.

I also finished up a couple of ornaments and a giftie pictures next week because they are for the EGA holiday party on Tuesday.

Well it seems that this will be last week on sick leave. My follow up appointment is this week and I figure I will be heading back to work next Monday. I am thankful that everything seems to be have gone well with my surgery and recovery!

Happy Dance Going On!!!!!

Yes this afternoon there was some Happy Dancing going on in my family room:


The deer picture for my DS is complete!!! I am heading over to House of Stitches on Tuesday to get this framed. Hopefully still will be able to have it done for Christmas for the DS. I was so happy to get it finished. Hope he likes it.
So what's a girl supposed to do after finishing such a big project. Start in on something else!! My ANG group is doing a stitch along with the Stitch of the Month provided by ANG. We started back at our September meeting and I need to do the first three months to get caught up before our next meeting the first Saturday of December so here my progress so far:

I can tell all ready that I am going to love this project. Of course I enjoy Sue Reed's design's so there was no doubt that I would. I am actually stitching this on a green canvas even though it looks cream.

I want to wish all my American Stitching Sisters and Brothers:

A Happy Thanksgiving!! We are going to visit the DS on Wednesday till Sunday even though he has to work it will be fun to see were he is living in WV.

Recovery Stitching

I am two weeks post op and have been doing some stitching during my recovery.

Once I get all the way across the Happy Dance can start!! I do think it will be completed and framed for Christmas!
I am so thankful that my surgery went well. I still have to remember that I am healing though. I drove for the first time today and boy that was tiring. I have been so surprised by the wonderful cards that I have received from my stitching and church families. I hope you all are getting plenty of time to stitch.
